Foam Dough

Foam Dough

This is one of those experiences that takes only minutes to set up, and to me that makes it one of the best types! Foam dough is made by using two ingredients that you more than likely already have in your home - corn flour and shaving cream. You can then easily colour it by adding food colouring of your choice.

I found the best way to work out how much corn flour and shaving cream you need was to give it a go and adjust it until you have the texture that you desire. Doing it this way I ended up with two very different textures. The foam dough that looks crumbly had a lot less shaving cream in it than the dough in a ball, but they were both equally wonderful to play with.

As a bit of a bonus our shaving cream smelt like lemons (thus why we choose to use yellow food colouring!)

I also decided to add straws which was a big hit, pushing them in the dough and pulling them out was fun!

I hope we have inspired you to go and make this easy foam dough soon and I would love to hear all about it!

Happy Playing!

  2. So the more shaving cream the less crumbly? I am going to try this with my daughter. It looks so fun!
